Hudson River Stories aboard the Pennsy 399 Barge

September 8 – 10 in Waterford, NY
October 4 – 16 in Kingston, NY

The SS Columbia Project received a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts to produce and present: Hudson River Stories – a traveling arts and culture celebration of boats, cargo, people and ideas, and how they all came together to influence the region’s river, canals and ports. The exhibit will be housed aboard the historic covered barge Pennsylvania Railroad No. 399 and will travel along the Hudson River. The 2017 pilot project involves two cities: Waterford at the Tugboat Roundup in September, and Kingston in October. Partners include: O+ Festival; Columbia University’s Hudson Valley Initiative; NYU’s Design for America; Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival; the Center for Creative Education.
